Arizona’s Family to the Homeless (AZFH) provides compassionate, low‑barrier homeless outreach through our Mobile Hope Initiative, serving individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability across Mesa, Apache Junction, Tempe, and the greater Phoenix Metro Area.
Our mission is to meet people where they are—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—by addressing immediate survival needs while offering dignity‑centered support rooted in compassion, respect, and acceptance.
Our Outreach Approach
AZFH Outreach Team Members approach each individual with love, kindness, respect, and humility, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and free from judgment.
We believe in holistic care, recognizing the importance of both physical and spiritual well‑being. Outreach participation is always voluntary, and services are offered without requirements, documentation, or pressure.
Our work is relationship‑based and trauma‑informed, understanding that trust and consistency are essential to meaningful, lasting change.
Mobile Hope Initiative
The Mobile Hope Initiative: Food Access & Essential Needs Outreach is AZFH’s primary outreach program and operates year‑round.
Rather than requiring individuals to travel to a fixed location or navigate complex systems, Mobile Hope delivers support directly at community locations, shelters, encampments, and partner sites throughout Maricopa County. This mobile model removes barriers for individuals who may not engage with traditional service systems.
Mobile Hope includes weekly outreach every Wednesday at Social Spin Laundromat during Free Laundry Day, providing consistent access to food and essentials in a familiar, community‑centered setting. Outreach also occurs at additional locations and in response to urgent needs as capacity allows.
What We Provide
Mobile Hope focuses on meeting immediate survival needs, prioritizing items that can be safely used by individuals living unsheltered or without access to refrigeration, cooking facilities, or storage.
Outreach services may include:
- Shelf‑stable, ready‑to‑eat meal kits
- Hygiene products, drinking water, clothing, and blankets
- Seasonal survival supplies, including heat‑relief items during extreme temperatures
- Public transit tickets, when funding and availability allow
- Informational resource lists for shelters, detox and recovery services, and other public resources
When individuals request help beyond immediate needs, we share information and support connection to available services. Placement assistance or referrals are offered only when individuals seek them.
All services are provided free of charge and without judgment.
Who We Serve
AZFH serves individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability, including those living unsheltered or in transitional environments.
- Veteran status is not tracked during routine outreach to maintain an inclusive, low‑barrier service model
- AZFH supports veterans experiencing homelessness through participation in the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance event
- When surplus supplies are available, AZFH also provides support to a local shelter in Mesa
Our outreach model is intentionally inclusive, designed to meet people where they are without imposing conditions or expectations.
Volunteer with the Outreach Team
Volunteers play an important role in supporting the Mobile Hope Initiative and our outreach efforts.
All current volunteer opportunities—including outreach support—are listed on our website and managed through the Point App. This ensures volunteers have access to accurate details, schedules, and requirements.

Volunteer opportunities vary based on current needs and capacity.
Looking Ahead
While Mobile Hope addresses immediate needs today, it is also part of AZFH’s broader vision for long‑term restoration.
AZFH is working toward Angel Springs Village, a future housing‑centered community designed to provide stability, food access, and supportive environments for individuals moving beyond crisis and toward lasting renewal.
Scriptural Foundation
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
— Philippians 2:3–4
This scripture reflects the heart behind our outreach—serving others with humility, compassion, and love.
