2026 Water Drive: Early Response to Arizona’s Extreme Heat
Arizona’s extreme heat season arrived early this year—beginning March 18, 2026—and AZFH immediately stepped up to meet the urgent need.
In just five weeks (as of April 9, 2026), AZFH has provided life‑saving supplies to 427 unsheltered individuals across our community, including:

💧 45 cases of water — 708 bottles
⚡ 19 cases of electrolyte beverages — 384 bottles
🌞 12 cases of sunscreen — 144 bottles

In addition, we distributed cooling towels, lip balm, and other sun‑protection items to help prevent heat‑related illness and protect lives during this dangerously hot period.

🚍 Transportation Support Is Heat Relief
AZFH also provided 1‑day transit passes to 48 individuals. These passes—purchased at a discounted rate of $2 per ticket—are essential for our unsheltered neighbors. Public transit allows individuals to reach heat relief and cooling centers, medical appointments, job opportunities, outreach services, and other critical resources when walking long distances in extreme heat is dangerous or impossible.

These combined efforts are about more than comfort—they are about survival.

To continue providing this level of rapid, life‑saving support throughout the summer, we need our community’s help.

If you are able, please consider making a donation to our 2026 Virtual Water Drive. Your generosity directly supports hydration, protection, and access to safe spaces for those most vulnerable to Arizona’s heat.

Every bottle of water, every transit pass, and every dollar makes a difference.
Thank you for standing with AZFH and our unsheltered community during Arizona’s most dangerous
season. 💙

Happy Father’s Day 💙

Today, we honor the hands that build,
the shoulders that carry,
the quiet strength that shows up—even when the world feels heavy.

We celebrate the fathers who rise before the sun,
who give what they have,
and still find a way to give more.

And today, we hold close the fathers who are fighting silent battles—
the ones working to make ends meet,
the ones navigating hardship,
the ones without a place to call home… yet still holding onto hope.

At Arizona’s Family to the Homeless, we see you.
We walk alongside you.

Through every meal shared, every hygiene kit packed,
every act of kindness—we are reminded that dignity cannot be lost,
and hope is never out of reach.

Fatherhood is not defined by circumstance,
but by love that refuses to give up.

So today, we don’t just celebrate fathers—
we lift them, we support them, we stand with them.
Because every father deserves not just recognition…
but compassion, restoration, and a path forward.

Happy Father’s Day

We are deeply grateful to our community partners, Valley of the Sun United Way and the Phoenix ToolBank , for providing critical heat relief supplies, hygiene kits, and snack packs for our homeless neighbors.

Through the dedication of volunteers organized by Valley of the Sun United Way and the distribution support of the Phoenix Tool Bank, these life-saving resources reached organizations like Arizona’s Family to the Homeless—bringing comfort, dignity, and hope to those in need.

It is truly humbling to witness how God works through so many hands and hearts behind the scenes. Every hour volunteered and every kit assembled reflects compassion in action and love for our community.

As extreme heat continues, the need remains urgent.

AZFH Heat Relief Efforts Are Already Making an Impact ☀️

Arizona’s heat relief season started early this year, and from March 18 through June 11, AZFH teams—together with the support of our incredible community partners—have already served 1,986 individuals experiencing homelessness.

So far, our unsheltered neighbors have received:

💧 4,472 bottles of water
🥤 3,163 bottles of sports drinks
⚡ 3,226 life-saving electrolyte packets
🧴 1,044 bottles of sunscreen
🎒 874 heat relief kits

And we are just getting started. As temperatures continue to rise, the need for life-saving heat relief supplies will only increase.

We want to pause and recognize the community partners who make this work possible: Midwest Food Bank Arizona, Stardust Building Supplies, Maricopa Heat Relief Network, DrinkLMNT, Saltr, Project Helping, and The Undie Chest for helping provide AZFH with these critical supplies.

We are also deeply grateful to the Social Spin Foundation for providing AZFH with a safe place to distribute products to the community during their Wash With Care events, and to Phoenix Restoration Church for partnering with us in street outreach to help bring these life-saving items directly to our unsheltered neighbors.

AZFH would also like to recognize our monthly monetary donors, whose generosity helps us purchase bus tickets, reusable bags, food, and other essential items needed to serve our community.

At AZFH, we believe in the power of community. It truly takes a village to bring restoration to our streets. When we work together, great things happen—and lives are restored.

To every volunteer, donor, outreach team member, and community partner: thank you for serving with compassion, dedication, and love. Together, we are meeting urgent needs with dignity and hope. ❤️
