At Arizona’s Family to the Homeless (AZFH), outreach is more than an act of service—it is a lifeline, a connection point, and a doorway to restoration.
During our recent Beat the Heat Outreach, in partnership with Phoenix Restoration Church, our teams came together to serve some of our most vulnerable neighbors facing extreme summer conditions. With temperatures rising across Arizona, the need for immediate, life-sustaining support has never been greater.
Together, we distributed over 300 pounds of life-sustaining supplies, including:
- Ice-cold water and electrolyte beverages
- LMNT electrolytes
- Sunscreen
- Narcan
- Meal kits
- New shoes
These items are critical in helping individuals survive the harsh desert heat—but the impact of outreach goes far beyond the physical.
Why Outreach Matters
Each year, AZFH provides thousands of pounds of life-giving resources to individuals experiencing homelessness. While these supplies help sustain life in the moment, they also serve a deeper purpose.
They are bridges.
Every bottle of water, every meal, and every simple act of care opens the door to conversation—creating opportunities to connect individuals with vital services, support systems, and pathways toward recovery.
